Terms of Use
The short version: logging is free forever, a subscription adds the ways of looking back over it, and letting one lapse never deletes a single session you logged.
What the app is
JiuJiu is a personal record of your Brazilian jiu-jitsu training. It ships with a catalogue of techniques, and it tracks which of them you have learned and how far you have taken each one, based on what you tell it.
It is a logbook, not an instructor. It does not teach technique, it does not assess your ability, and it does not award rank. Belts and stripes in the app are a record of what a coach gave you in real life. Nothing in the app is a qualification and nothing in it is advice.
It is not medical advice
A session can optionally record that a body part was sore or injured, so you can see your own patterns over time. That is a note you wrote to yourself. It is not a diagnosis, not a treatment plan, and not a substitute for a doctor or a physiotherapist. If something hurts, ask a professional, not an app.
What a subscription buys
Logging sessions is free for good. So is the entire technique catalogue, every level you earn, and the belt you currently hold. None of that is behind a payment at any point.
A subscription adds your full session history, the six-axis game radar, your belt and stripe history, the player card, unlimited custom techniques, iCloud backup, and an app icon that matches your rank. Subscriptions are offered monthly and yearly with a seven-day free trial, and there is a one-time lifetime option.
Billing, and how to stop
Payment is taken by Apple through your Apple Account, not by us. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before it ends. If you started a free trial, any unused part of it is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
You manage and cancel everything in Settings on your device, under your Apple Account, in the Subscriptions section. We cannot cancel or refund on your behalf, because we never hold the payment. Refunds are requested from Apple.
If a subscription lapses, nothing is deleted
This is the part worth reading. Letting a subscription end never deletes your training. Every session you logged is still on the device, every level you earned is still earned, and the app does not roll your belt backwards. What changes is what the app will show you: the history view returns to the most recent sessions, and the radar, the ladder and the player card go back behind the lock.
iCloud backup keeps running after a lapse rather than stopping, deliberately, because two devices that quietly stop agreeing produce a merge conflict on the day you come back. Your data is yours whether or not you are paying for it, and you can export the whole record to JSON or CSV at any time, subscribed or not.
Your content
Techniques you add, notes you write and everything you log belong to you. We claim no licence over them, we cannot read them, and they are never published anywhere. There is no feed and no other user who can see anything of yours.
You are responsible for what you type into your own log, which in practice means: it stays yours, and it stays private.
The licence itself
Your right to use the app is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, the standard EULA that covers every app sold through the App Store. It is linked below. The app is provided as it is, without warranty, and we are not liable for what you do on the mat.
Changes
If the subscription changes what it includes, or the app starts doing something this page does not describe, this page is updated in the same release and the date at the top changes with it. That is the same rule the privacy page is held to.
The standard EULA
Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement is at apple.com/legal.
